With thicker walls for a more robust construction, the VLTOR MUR was designed to be stronger than the standard AR-15 upper. It also provides a sound foundation for a hard use or precision AR-15.

The Vltor MUR is machined from a 7075 Aluminum forging made to exacting standards. Before the forgings are machined, these uppers are stress relieved, heat treated, and cryogenically treated to ensure extreme durability.

The Vltor MUR-1S is guaranteed to be 100% dimensionally correct, as these uppers are made on precision machining equipment and then checked for final accuracy. The Vltor MUR-1S has a one-piece machined shell deflector built-in.
