The A2 Rifle Action Spring is a Mil-Spec / OEM replacement spring for the VLTOR A5 or rifle length receiver extension (buffer) tubes.
Action springs are a regular wear item. Springs lose their strength over thousands and thousands of rounds. Some PMCS manuals suggest replacing your Mil-spec action springs every 5,000 rounds. Failure to do so can result in excessive wear on your rifle's components as well as observable bolt bounce. Bolt bounce is when the laxity of the spring allows the bolt to "bounce" back after seating the bullet. This can be eliminated by fresh springs and utilizing the appropriate buffer weight.
