Hodge Defense Upper Receiver, now commercially available in 7075-T6 Aluminum. Precision machined to Hodge Defense's specifications, and held within =/- .001" for critical dimensions, this upper receiver is a MIL-SPEC style upper with slightly improved specs to increase upper rigidity and better barrel to upper interface. This results in greater potential accuracy!
Thermal Fitting is required. To thermally fit a barrel, simply apply heat to the upper receiver (via a heat gun, or even a hair dryer) for 120-180 seconds to expand the aluminum slightly prior to fitting a barrel. This tight fit provided with thermal fit uppers enhances accuracy potential, but it does take some practice and getting used too. I would recommend wearing gloves to protect the hands and apply heat liberally. If you can comfortably hold the upper with bare hands there is either not enough heat on the upper or you're the bad guy from a James Bond movie.
Made from 7075-T6 aluminum and anodized Titanium Gray, this upper receiver is a great upper to build a high quality upper or go for a full AU MOD 1 clone build!
