Great Part

While a bit expensive for what it is, I’ve always preferred the fit and finish of Badger’s bolt catch to all of the others on the market. Add in that the release paddle is larger than standard to be somewhat easier to hit at speed and you have a winning combination.

A tragic tale.

The picture for this bolt catch doesn't do it justice: it has a great texture, and the lower paddle is more generously sized than a mil-spec bolt catch. It's not fair to compare it to the mil-spec bolt catch, though, since this is a premium upgrade. I was expecting a texture similar to the Badger Ordnance universal safety selector, but it's grittier and more tactile.
The improved size is noticeable, and in operation it just feels right -- it makes the standard bolt catch feel like a little toy. I have a Geissele MBC on another blaster that works fine, but overall fit and finish cannot compare to the Badger Ordnance piece. Considering that the MBC doesn't work with a lot of ambi mag-releases, I'll take the Badger over the G any day.

I run a FCD EMR-A on my main blaster, and I was very worried the two wouldn't fit together. However, the two fit flawlessly -- neither part interrupts the operation of the other. Without gloves, there's a nice tangible texture difference between the Badger bolt catch and the FCD dimples on my EMR-A. The gritty lower paddle is easily found. But when you wear gloves, Senpai, because things get hot so quickly (◕‿-) you'll still easily find the lower paddle because of its generous height.

And now, a modern tragedy: After install, I hadn't yet peeled the tape off my receiver when I saw Roger's Insta post announcing the ABC/R v3. What's a shooter-chan to do? ┐(‘~`;)┌
Regardless of what the future holds, I really enjoy the Badger Ordnance Enhanced Bolt Catch and think it's a worthy upgrade for a shooty boi.
