The Colt AR15A4 is a 20" rifle in the classic style of a military issue M16.  Updated with a quicker twist in the barrel rifling for heavier rounds (69gr, 77gr) -- everything else about this rifle stays true to the heritage of an A2/A4 rifle issued to the US military for decades.

Longer barrels are back in style for their ability to optimally use 5.56 ammunition to achieve peak velocity.  The 5.56 round gets its lethality from velocity, which allows it to defeat body armor and reach out at distance with a flatter trajectory.
