Centurion Arms 5.56 CMR Gen 1 Rail Handguards
The Centurion Arms CMR (Centurion Modular Rail) is a lightweight rail system which uses a simple, slick design and proprietary barrel nut. The Centurion CMR rail features 4 built in QD sling swivel sockets with limited rotation on the front and rear, left and right side of the rail. The one-piece extruded aluminum of the CMR makes for an extremely rigid and robut rail system. This is a free floating rail system, which enhances accuracy and allows installation of aiming lasers, optics, and backup sights.
This Gen 1 style CMR uses the latest mounting technology found on the newer model CMRs, but utilizes the rigid and solid construction and internal reinforcing ribs of the original CMR design.
This CMR uses a proprietary mounting system with steel thread inserts along the rail to mount the Centurion CMR accessories (and some from other accessories like the B5 GripStop and products from Arisaka.)
The benefit of the CMR system is users can easily attach CMR specific mounts and accessories to the rail with speed and ease: much simpler than dealing with the backing plates found on M-LOK or Keymod accessories. Centurion has since released both Keymod and M-LOK CMR rails for those with preference for either system.
