Barrel whip, which can be seen on high speed videos of rifles and carbines firing, is when the barrel heats up and begins to flex and whip during firing. Barrel whip effects accuracy and traditionally the only way to minimuze barrel whip was to construct a heavy, or bull, barrel. The Hanson profile maintains a slim contour than heavy or bull barrels without adding that excess weight. Important Notes on Barrel Length: Barrels shorter than 16" must be a registered SBR, AOW or in some cases can be configured for use on an AR pattern pistol. OR in the case of the 13.7 - 14.5" barrels must have a permanently attached muzzle device. This can be a suppressor, flash hider, or muzzle brake depending on the laws of your municipality and state.
