Full Details & Specifications

Ares Gear Aegis Belts - Melonited Black Buckle

Details

The Aegis belt was developed in response to customers who wanted a belt with the same performance as their Ranger belt, but a simpler "look". Like the Ranger, the Aegis is 1.5" wide, and is composed of 2 layers of the same proprietary scuba webbing (3 color choices). The Aegis buckle is beadblasted 17-4PH stainless steel, this version features a melonite finish.

All components are made here in the USA (webbing, thread, and all parts of the buckle), and they sew them together at their shop in Columbus, Ohio.

Aegis belts don't require the same overlap as the Ranger belts, so we recommend you purchase based on overall length (XS=39", S=41", M=43", L=45", XL=47", 2XL=49") instead of on belt size or pants size. Some people have stated a preference for a tail that ends immediately after their belt buckle, while others prefer a few inches of adjustability.

For example: Jake wears size 36 pants (38 when carrying IWB) and wears an XL Aegis Enhanced...but he COULD be wearing a M if he wanted to eliminate any tail.

Great belt

Very stiff. Great platform for a holster and related equipment. I much prefer the infinitely-adjustable nature of this style over the 5-hole leather gunbelt I had used for years. Nice value at less than $100.
Read the length/sizing info and if in doubt, I recommend going with the smaller option. I wear 34" waist pants, and exchanged an L for an M as the amount of tail was overlapping into gear placement. An S would probably be sufficient as well.
