The legendary MK-12 "Special Purpose Rifle" (SPR) and MK-18 short barreled rifle are extremely different beasts that have seen frequent use in America's war on terror. The Mk12 is a 18" precision and long range M16 variant, whereas the Mk18 is a short, 10.3 in barrel variant suitable for urban and cave dwelling close quarters combat. Despite how different these two weapon systems are... they both utilize this front sight.
