I've had a LMT 14.5" rifle for many years now, having taken it to countless competitions and carbine classes. It has never skipped a beat, the only malfunctions I have ever encountered were do bad ammo (case head separation), experimenting with parts, and setting up malfunctions in class to learn how to clear them.
