With thicker walls and a more lightweight build (only 0.8 ounces), the VLTOR MUR was designed to be a stronger form than the standard AR-15 upper. It also provides a sound foundation for a hard use or precision AR-15.

The Vltor MUR is machined from a 7075 Aluminum forging made to exacting standards.  Before the forgings are machined, these uppers are stress relieved, heat treated, and cryogenically treated to ensure extreme durability.

The Vltor MUR is guaranteed to be 100% dimensionally correct, as these uppers are made on precision machining equipment and then checked for final accuracy.
